Amanda first started taking an interest and studying Reiki on her own 6 years ago, in 2005 Amanda received her Master Reiki Diploma from Reiki Blessings for both humans and animals. Amanda has also been mentoring under Elizabeth Fulton from www.healingforanimals.com a well known and respected animal Reiki provider.

Amanda has provided Reiki for people, horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, cows, birds and a chipmunk who decided to live in the tree behind her house for the remainder of the year, getting Reiki 2-3 times a week.

About Reiki

Reiki is not a substitute for regular veterinary or medical care.

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle hands-on healing technique. The word comes from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki meaning Universal Life Force. Simply put, Reiki is the channeling of Universal Energy (Life Force) for the purposes of healing.

Distance Reiki Sessions

Distance Healing is the transmission of the Reiki energy to a person or animal without the Reiki practitioner being physically present with the being receiving the energy. Distance Healing is used when a person or animal is in need of healing but cannot visit a Reiki Practitioner. Since the Reiki is not limited by time, space or distance the being receiving the energy and the Reiki Practitioner can be half a world away from one another and the Reiki is still just as effective. The healing energy channeled is as strong as that experienced during a personal visit. 

The Distance Healing Session will be set at a prearranged time and i ask that:

If you are receiving the treatment, that you get comfortable and quiet during the time of the session.

If your animal companion is receiving the treatment, then I ask that you be present with your animal during the time of the session to provide comfort and also to observe anything that happens during the session.

A Pendulum is basically a weight suspended from a string, you can make a pendulum out of just about anything, from your necklace with a pendent or a piece of tread with a button on the bottom. You can find pendulums in many online shops as well as "New Age" type stores. You can buy pendulums from $5.00 to $200.00 depending on the material.

Dowsing is nothing new, for centuries dowsing has been used to find water, mineral sources and to tell how deep down water may be underground. Most commonly referred to as Water Witching, dowsing tools come in all shapes and sizes. Abbe` Mermet was considered the father of dowsing, he was very well known for finding under ground springs, mineral deposits among many other things. He was also well reputed for finding lost children or pets, he wrote an amazing book on dowsing that anyone looking into dowsing should read.

So how does Dowsing work?
I will be referring to the pendulum through the rest of this page as that is what I most commonly use.

That depends on who you ask, some say that the pendulum swings with energy fields, some say it is our deeply buried sub conscious, others say it has to do with the earth's rotation and magnet pulls.

I use the pendulum to help me find "troubled" spots on dogs (and people at times) I will go over the dog with the pendulum (it is swinging constantly and will change its swing over problem areas) and notes any areas the pendulum changes its swing over. I will then go over the dog myself to look for any muscle or joint issues and if I can find nothing I will use the pendulum again to narrow down what the problem area might be.

I did the above with my older dog Mardi and the pendulum kept indicating there was something wrong over her stomach area, I could find nothing wrong with her, she wasn't acting sick at all, she showed no clues of anything being wrong. I took her to my vet just to satisfy my curiosity and my vet went ahead with an X-Ray (after some puzzled looks at me) Mardi had a small mass in her stomach that appeared to be something she ate, luckily it passed through without having to do any surgery.

One of the main things I use the Pendulum for is working with the energy field on dogs and sometimes people, I will use the pendulum to look for blocks or stagnant areas in the energy fields to help clear them up.

Pendulum Dowsing is something that is thrown in to the New Age "whoaaaaa I don't think so" department, but hopefully as the years go by and Energy Healing becomes more accepted the Pendulum will be as common place as massage.

Crystal Healing uses various crystals and gemstones to aid with physical, mental and emotional healing.

Every crystal has a energy field, by using these crystals in grids (crystals placed around the animal or person) or in crystal essences (crystals infused with water) we can help align our own energy fields. Think of the Quartz Crystal, Quartz is used in watches as well as industrial machines to run them.

Most of the crystal work I do is with crystal essences or sometimes grids, Crystal Healing too does fall into the "Whoaaaaa I don't think so" department but I can attest to some of the amazing things I have seen crystal essences and using crystal grids can do.

Just as with the pendulum I can use different crystals to help clear out blockages or stagnant areas the may surround the dog, using crystal essences is; I have found; one of the easiest ways to use crystal healing. I have found that some dogs just don't want to lay down long enough for a grid or they want to eat the crystals. So I usually go over the dog with the pendulum and then make up a crystal essence depending on the dogs need.

Crystal Healing just like pendulum dowsing I truly hope become more mainstream as I feel that all tools should be utilized in our dogs (and ourselves!) health.
